It is based on the tale of Robin Hood<\/a>, and follows his training by John<\/a> to steal from the Sheriff of Nottingham<\/a>. The film stars Taron Egerton<\/a>, Jamie Foxx<\/a>, Ben Mendelsohn<\/a>, Eve Hewson<\/a>, Tim Minchin<\/a>, and Jamie Dornan<\/a>. The film was announced in February 2015, with Edgerton signing on as the titular role that September. Hewson, Foxx and Mendleson all joined the cast over the following year, and principal photography<\/a> began in February 2017, lasting through May.\u00a0Robin Hood<\/i> was released by Lionsgate<\/a> on November 21, 2018.<\/p>\n
