A Star Is Born<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 American musical<\/a> romantic drama<\/a> film produced and directed by Bradley Cooper<\/a>, in his directorial debut. Cooper wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth<\/a> and Will Fetters. A remake of the 1937 film of the same name<\/a>, it stars Cooper, Lady Gaga<\/a>, Andrew Dice Clay<\/a>, Dave Chappelle<\/a>, and Sam Elliott<\/a>, and follows a hard-drinking musician (Cooper) who discovers and falls in love with a young singer (Gaga). It marks the third remake of the original 1937 film (which featured Janet Gaynor<\/a> and Fredric March<\/a>), which was adapted into a 1954 musical<\/a> (starring Judy Garland<\/a> and James Mason<\/a>) and then remade as a 1976 rock musical<\/a> with Barbra Streisand<\/a> and Kris Kristofferson<\/a>.<\/p>\n
