Thugs of Hindostan<\/b><\/i> is an upcoming 2018 Indian Hindi<\/a>-language epic<\/a> action-adventure film<\/a>, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya<\/a>, and produced by Aditya Chopra<\/a> under his banner Yash Raj Films<\/a>. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan<\/a>, Aamir Khan<\/a>, Katrina Kaif<\/a>, Fatima Sana Shaikh<\/a> and Lloyd Owen<\/a> in leading roles. Set in 1795, the film follows a band of Thugs<\/a> led by Khudabaksh Azaad, who aspires to free Hindostan<\/a> (the Indian subcontinent<\/a>) from the rule of<\/a> the expanding British East India Company<\/a>. Alarmed, British commander John Clive sends a small-time Thug from Awadh<\/a>, Firangi Mallah, to infiltrate and counter the threat.[3]<\/a><\/sup> The soundtrack was composed by Ajay-Atul<\/a> with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug, the movie tells us about a thug named Ameer Ali and his gang, whose nefarious ways posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India between 1790 and 1805.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
