It is the third entry in the\u00a0Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/a><\/i>\u00a0series, acting as a sequel to\u00a0Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(2018) and a follow-up to\u00a0Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(2020). The plot follows\u00a0Peter Parker<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Miles Morales<\/a>\u00a0as they come into conflict with\u00a0Kraven the Hunter<\/a>, who transforms\u00a0New York City<\/a>\u00a0into a hunting ground for super-powered individuals; and with the extraterrestrial\u00a0Venom<\/a>\u00a0symbiote<\/a>, which bonds itself to Peter and negatively influences him, threatening to destroy his personal relationships.<\/p>\n

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2<\/i>\u00a0was released for the\u00a0PlayStation 5<\/a>\u00a0on October 20, 2023. The game received critical acclaim, with praise directed towards its narrative, characterization, and gameplay. It was nominated for numerous end-of-year accolades, and won in six categories at the\u00a027th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards<\/a>, including\u00a0Action Game of the Year<\/a>. The game sold over 2.5 million units in 24 hours and over five million in 11 days, becoming PlayStation’s fastest selling first-party title. The game has sold over 11 million units as of April 2024.
