The film stars Britt Robertson<\/a>, KJ Apa<\/a>, Juliet Rylance<\/a>, John Ortiz<\/a>, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Peggy Lipton<\/a>, Dennis Quaid<\/a> and Josh Gad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film was subjected to scrutiny after a video from the set was leaked of a dog being forced into running water, then submerged and requiring human rescue. Resulting investigations concluded that the video images were authentic, but had been edited.\u00a0The film is co-production between Amblin Entertainment<\/a>, Reliance Entertainment<\/a>, Walden Media<\/a>, and Pariah Entertainment Group<\/a>.\u00a0It was released by Universal Pictures<\/a> on January 27, 2017 and grossed $181 million worldwide.<\/p>\n
