The film stars Dacre Montgomery<\/a>, Naomi Scott<\/a>, RJ Cyler<\/a>, Becky G<\/a>, Ludi Lin<\/a>, Bill Hader<\/a>, Bryan Cranston<\/a> and Elizabeth Banks<\/a>. In the film, Zordon<\/a> recruits five high school students to form a team that must stop an alien threat led by the witch Rita Repulsa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is the first blockbuster film<\/a> to feature LGBTQ<\/a> and autistic<\/a> superheroes.\u00a0Franchise creator Haim Saban<\/a> returned to produce the film under his investment firm<\/a>. The film premiered at Regency Village Theater<\/a> in Los Angeles<\/a> on March 22, 2017 and was released in the United States on March 24, 2017. The film received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $67 million worldwide.<\/p>\n
