Hivebusters<\/b>\u00a0are specialist\u00a0Gears<\/a>\u00a0deployed against the\u00a0Swarm<\/a>. Their modus operandi is to let themselves be captured by the Swarm and taken into one of their\u00a0Hives<\/a>. Then, they fight their way out. They are essentially elite exterminators.<\/p>\n

The Hivebuster program was the brainchild of\u00a0Victor Hoffman<\/a>, who theorized that killing a\u00a0Hive<\/a>\u00a0would kill all of the Swarm creatures connected to it. Over the strenuous objections of\u00a0Hana<\/a>, Hoffman tested his strategy by assembling a team of misfits and criminals,\u00a0Team Scorpio<\/a>, and offering them the chance to redeem themselves by undertaking the first Hivebust. The plan was a success, and Team Scorpio opted to stay together to undertake further missions.[<\/a><\/sup><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
