Rogue One<\/i> stars Felicity Jones<\/a>, Diego Luna<\/a>, Ben Mendelsohn<\/a>, Donnie Yen<\/a>, Mads Mikkelsen<\/a>, Alan Tudyk<\/a>, Riz Ahmed<\/a>, Jiang Wen<\/a> and Forest Whitaker<\/a>, and follows Jyn Erso, the daughter of the unwilling designer of the Galactic Empire<\/a>‘s superweapon, the Death Star<\/a>, and her quest to retrieve his plans for destroying it.<\/p>\n

Produced by Lucasfilm<\/a> and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures<\/a>, the film is chronologically set between Revenge of the Sith<\/a><\/i> (2005) and A New Hope<\/a><\/i> (1977). Principal photography<\/a> began at Elstree Studios<\/a> near London during early August 2015 and wrapped in February 2016, with reshoots and additional filming taking place in mid-June 2016. Rogue One<\/i> premiered in Los Angeles<\/a> on December 10, 2016, and was released in the United States on December 16, 2016. The film received positive reviews from critics and has grossed $62 million worldwide.<\/p>\n
