Max Steel<\/b><\/i> is a 2016 American science fiction<\/a> action<\/a> superhero film<\/a> directed by Stewart Hendler<\/a>, written by Christopher Yost<\/a>,\u00a0and stars Ben Winchell<\/a>, Josh Brener<\/a>, Ana Villafa\u00f1e<\/a>, Andy Garc\u00eda<\/a>, Maria Bello<\/a> and Billy Slaughter<\/a>. Based on the eponymous toy line by Mattel<\/a>, the film chronicles the adventures of teenage Max McGrath (Winchell) and alien companion Steel (Brener), who harness and combine their tremendous powers to evolve into the turbo charged superhero Max Steel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Filming began on April 29, 2014, in Wilmington<\/a>, North Carolina<\/a> and wrapped in late-May 2014. Dolphin Films<\/a>, Mattel Entertainment<\/a>, and Playground Productions co-produce.\u00a0The film was released in the United States on October 14, 2016, by Open Road Films<\/a> and was a critical and commercial failure.<\/p>\n

16-year old Max McGrath has just moved to a new town – and is desperately trying to fit in – when he discovers his body can generate the universe’s most powerful energy. When they finally meet, they discover that together they form Max Steel, a superhero possessing powerful strength beyond anything in our world. These two unlikely friends soon find themselves hunted by sinister forces who want to control Max’s powers, as well as an unstoppable enemy from another galaxy.<\/div><\/div>\n
