A clause in the will of his wealthy father forces him to enter a military academy in order to inherit. Virendra&#8217;s repeated attempts to get himself discharged are foiled by Major Jasbir Singh Rana (<a title=\"Amitabh Bachchan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amitabh_Bachchan\">Amitabh Bachchan<\/a>). Then Virendra falls in love with Nisha (<a title=\"Sonali Bendre\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sonali_Bendre\">Sonali Bendre<\/a>), the sister of a gangster named Shankar (<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Ashish Vidhyarthi\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ashish_Vidhyarthi\">Ashish Vidhyarthi<\/a>). Shankar wants Nisha to marry the son of his friend Parshuram Bihari (<a title=\"Mohan Joshi\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mohan_Joshi\">Mohan Joshi<\/a>) and hatches a plot to separate the couple, by pretending to accept Virendra, however soon beats him up badly and attempts to break both his arms and legs.
