Ip Man<\/b><\/i> is a series of Hong Kong biographical martial arts films<\/a> based on the life events of the Wing Chun<\/a> master of the same name<\/a>. The progenitor of the series was Ip Man<\/a><\/i> (2008), which followed by two sequels\u00a0\u2013 Ip Man 2<\/a><\/i> (2010), Ip Man 3<\/a><\/i> (2015), the spin-off Master Z: Ip Man Legacy<\/a><\/i> (2018) and another sequel Ip Man 4<\/a><\/i> (2019). All four main films are directed by Wilson Yip<\/a>, written by Edmond Wong, produced by Raymond Wong<\/a> and star Donnie Yen<\/a>. Mandarin Films<\/a> released the first two films in Hong Kong, which earned more than $37 million with a budget of around $24.6 million. Donnie Yen has mentioned each film has a unique theme, that the first Ip Man<\/i> film was about “Survival”, Ip Man 2<\/i> focuses on “Making a Living and Adaptation”, while Ip Man 3<\/i> focuses on “Life” itself.[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n
