Gemini Man<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 American action thriller film<\/a>[2]<\/a><\/sup> directed by Ang Lee<\/a> and written by David Benioff<\/a>, Billy Ray<\/a>, and Darren Lemke<\/a>. The film stars Will Smith<\/a>, Mary Elizabeth Winstead<\/a>, Clive Owen<\/a>, and Benedict Wong<\/a> and follows an aging hitman who is targeted by a younger clone of himself. Originally conceived in 1997, the film went through development hell<\/a> for nearly 20 years. Several directors, including Tony Scott<\/a>, Curtis Hanson<\/a>, and Joe Carnahan<\/a>, were all attached at some point and numerous actors, including Harrison Ford<\/a>, Mel Gibson<\/a>, Clint Eastwood<\/a>, Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a>, Sylvester Stallone<\/a>, and Sean Connery<\/a>, were set to star. In 2016, Skydance Media<\/a> purchased the rights to the screenplay (which had been through several rewrites) from Disney<\/a>, and in October 2017, Ang Lee signed on to direct for Skydance with Paramount<\/a> handling distribution rights. Filming took place from February through May 2018.\u00a0Gemini Man<\/i> premiered at the Zurich Film Festival<\/a> on October 1, 2019 and will be theatrically released in the United States by Paramount Pictures<\/a> on October 11, 2019.<\/p>\n
