Set in the fictional world of Middle-earth<\/a>, the films follow the hobbit<\/a> Frodo Baggins<\/a> as he and the Fellowship<\/a> embark on a quest to destroy the One Ring<\/a>, to ensure the destruction of its maker, the Dark Lord Sauron<\/a>. The Fellowship eventually splits up and Frodo continues the quest with his loyal companion Sam<\/a> and the treacherous Gollum<\/a>. Meanwhile, Aragorn<\/a>, heir in exile to the throne of Gondor<\/a>, along with Legolas<\/a>, Gimli<\/a>, Merry<\/a>, Pippin<\/a> and the wizard<\/a> Gandalf<\/a>, unite to rally the Free Peoples of Middle-earth<\/a> in the War of the Ring<\/a> in order to aid Frodo by weakening Sauron’s forces.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
