Koi… Mil Gaya<\/b><\/i> (English: Found Someone) is a 2003 Indian Hindi<\/a>-language science fiction film<\/a> directed by Rakesh Roshan<\/a>. It is the first installment in the Krrish franchise<\/a><\/i>. The film stars Hrithik Roshan<\/a> and Preity Zinta<\/a> in the lead roles with Rekha<\/a> playing an important supporting role. Initially, Aishwarya Rai<\/a> was offered the role of Nisha. After she declined, the role went to Zinta.[3]<\/a><\/sup> The film was released on 8 August 2003. It was shot in Kasauli<\/a>, Nanital<\/a>, Bhimtal<\/a> and in Canada.[4] <\/a><\/sup>Koi… Mil Gaya<\/i> received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues<\/a>, and was screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival<\/a> and the NatFilm Festival<\/a> in Denmark. The film garnered the Best Picture, Best Director (Rakesh Roshan) and Best Actor for (Hrithik Roshan) ans awards in all major award ceremonies of 2003 including the Filmfare Awards<\/a>, IIFA Awards<\/a>, Screen Awards<\/a>, etc. It spawned two sequels \u2014 Krrish<\/a><\/i> and Krrish 3<\/a><\/i> \u2014 making it the first of the Krrish<\/a><\/i> trilogy.
