Fanaa<\/b><\/i> (transl.<\/abbr>\u2009Destroyed in Love) is a 2006 Indian romantic thriller<\/a> film, directed by Kunal Kohli<\/a> and produced by Yash Raj Films<\/a>. The film stars Aamir Khan<\/a> in an antihero<\/a> role, with Kajol<\/a> as his blind<\/a> love interest, and Rishi Kapoor<\/a>, Tabu<\/a> and Sharat Saxena<\/a> in supporting roles. Aamir Khan plays the role of a tourist guide in New Delhi<\/a> who goes by the name Rehan Khan and Kajol plays a blind Kashmiri<\/a> woman, Zooni Ali Beg. Both fall in love, but are separated by a terrorist attack<\/a> that reportedly kills Rehan. It is later revealed that he was not killed, but is in fact a Kashmiri insurgent<\/a>, Rehan Qadri, and the mastermind behind the attacks. Seven years later, his organization, known as the “IKF”, sends him on a mission in Kashmir<\/a>, where he once again, in a strange fate, meets Zooni.\u00a0Fanaa<\/i> was one of the most expensive Bollywood<\/a> films during its time of release. The film’s title is derived from the Islamic Sufi<\/a> term “fanaa<\/a>“, meaning “destroyed” in Arabic<\/a>, Persian<\/a>, Urdu<\/a>, and Hindi<\/a>. Khan and Kajol were put into a romantic pairing for the first time with this film. It also marked the comeback of Kajol, who was last seen in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham<\/a><\/i> (2001). It was released in Malaysia<\/a> on 26 November 2006. The film was banned in the state of Gujarat<\/a> due to protests against the lead actor Aamir Khan for his comments criticizing the Gujarati government. The film was released in Brazil<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n

Rehan (Aamir Khan), a tour guide and notorious flirt, meets Zooni (Kajol), a blind Kashmiri woman. She determines to live independently and disregards her friends’ advice to ignore Rehan.
