Rocketman<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 biographical<\/a> musical film<\/a> based on the life of musician Elton John<\/a>. Directed by Dexter Fletcher<\/a> and written by Lee Hall<\/a>, it stars Taron Egerton<\/a> as John, with Jamie Bell<\/a>, Richard Madden<\/a>, and Bryce Dallas Howard<\/a>. The film follows John’s early days as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music<\/a> to his musical partnership with Bernie Taupin<\/a>. The film is titled after John’s 1972 song “Rocket Man<\/a>“. An Elton John biopic had been in development for almost two decades, with the project going through studios including Walt Disney Studios<\/a> and Focus Features<\/a>, directors including Michael Gracey<\/a>, and actors including Tom Hardy<\/a> and Justin Timberlake<\/a>.
