Brightburn<\/b><\/i> is an upcoming 2019 American superhero<\/a> horror film<\/a> produced by James Gunn<\/a> and Kenneth Huang<\/a>. The film is directed by David Yarovesky from a screenplay by Mark<\/a> and Brian Gunn<\/a>, and stars Elizabeth Banks<\/a>, David Denman<\/a>, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones<\/a> and Meredith Hagner<\/a>. It is produced and financed by Screen Gems<\/a>, Stage 6 Films<\/a>, Troll Court Entertainment and The H Collective<\/a>, and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing<\/a>.Brightburn<\/i> was announced as an “untitled James Gunn horror project” in December 2017, shortly before Gunn was dropped by Disney<\/a> and Marvel Studios<\/a> from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3<\/i><\/a>, only to be reinstated. Gunn was attached as producer, with his brother Brian and cousin Mark writing the script.
