WrestleMania 35<\/b> was the thirty-fifth annual WrestleMania professional wrestling<\/a> pay-per-view<\/a> (PPV) event<\/a> and WWE Network<\/a> event<\/a> produced by WWE<\/a> for their Raw<\/a>, SmackDown<\/a>, and 205 Live<\/a> brands<\/a>. It took place on April 7, 2019, at MetLife Stadium<\/a> in East Rutherford<\/a>, New Jersey<\/a>. The event included the first-ever women’s main event match in WrestleMania history. The card consisted of sixteen matches, including four on the pre-show. In the main event, Becky Lynch<\/a> defeated Raw Women’s Champion<\/a> Ronda Rousey<\/a> and SmackDown Women’s Champion<\/a> Charlotte Flair<\/a> in a winner takes all<\/a> triple threat match<\/a> to win both titles, becoming a double champion. Also on the card, Kofi Kingston<\/a> defeated Daniel Bryan<\/a> to win his first WWE Championship<\/a>, also simultaneously becoming WWE’s 30th Triple Crown Champion<\/a> and 20th Grand Slam Champion<\/a>. Other prominent matches saw Seth Rollins<\/a> defeat Brock Lesnar<\/a> to win the Universal Championship<\/a>, Baron Corbin<\/a> defeated Kurt Angle<\/a> in Angle’s farewell match<\/a>, and Triple H<\/a> defeated Batista<\/a> in a No Holds Barred match<\/a> with his career on the line, which was also Batista’s final match.<\/p>\n

The card consisted of sixteen matches, including three on the pre-show. The matches resulted from scripted storylines, in which wrestlers portrayed heroes<\/a>, villains<\/a>, or less distinguishable characters<\/a> that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
