The Aftermath<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 drama<\/a> film directed by James Kent and written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, based on the novel of the same name by Rhidian Brook<\/a>. It stars Keira Knightley<\/a>, Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a>, Jason Clarke<\/a>, and Alexander Scheer. The Aftermath<\/i> is set in postwar Germany in 1946. Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley<\/a>) arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in the bitter winter, to be reunited with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke<\/a>), a colonel of the British Forces Germany<\/a> charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that Lewis has made an unexpected decision: they will be sharing the grand house with its previous owners, a German widower (Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a>) and his troubled daughter.
