Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade<\/b><\/i> is a 1989 American action<\/a>–adventure film<\/a> directed by Steven Spielberg<\/a>, from a story co-written by executive producer George Lucas<\/a>. It is the third installment in the Indiana Jones<\/i> franchise<\/a>. Harrison Ford<\/a> reprises the title role<\/a> and Sean Connery<\/a> plays Indiana’s father, Henry Jones, Sr.<\/a> Other cast members featured include Alison Doody<\/a>, Denholm Elliott<\/a>, Julian Glover<\/a>, River Phoenix<\/a>, and John Rhys-Davies<\/a>. In the film, set largely in 1938, Indiana searches for his father, a Holy Grail<\/a> scholar, who has been kidnapped by Nazis<\/a>. After the mixed reaction to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom<\/a><\/i>, Spielberg chose to tone down the gore in the next installment. During the five years between Temple of Doom<\/i> and Last Crusade<\/i>, he and executive producer Lucas reviewed several scripts before accepting Jeffrey Boam<\/a>‘s. Filming locations included Spain<\/a>, Italy<\/a>, West Germany<\/a>, Jordan<\/a>, the United Kingdom<\/a>, and the United States.<\/a><\/p>\n

The intrepid explorer Indiana Jones sets out to rescue his father, a medievalist who has vanished while searching for the Holy Grail. Following clues in the old man’s notebook, Indy arrives in Venice, where he enlists the help of a beautiful academic, but they are not the only ones who are on the trail, and some sinister old enemies soon come out of the woodwork.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
