The Cloverfield Paradox<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 American science fiction<\/a> horror film<\/a> directed by Julius Onah<\/a>, written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung<\/a>, and produced by J. J. Abrams<\/a>‘<\/span>s Bad Robot Productions<\/a>. It is the third installment in the Cloverfield<\/i> franchise<\/a>, following Cloverfield<\/a><\/i> (2008) and 10 Cloverfield Lane<\/a><\/i> (2016). The film stars Daniel Br\u00fchl<\/a>, Elizabeth Debicki<\/a>, Aksel Hennie<\/a>, Gugu Mbatha-Raw<\/a>, Chris O’Dowd<\/a>, John Ortiz<\/a>, David Oyelowo<\/a> and Zhang Ziyi<\/a>, and follows an international group of astronauts aboard a space station who, after using a particle accelerator<\/a> to try to solve Earth’s energy crisis, must find a way home after accidentally traveling to an alternate dimension<\/a>. The film was based on God Particle<\/i>, a spec script<\/a> from Oren Uziel which had the main plot of the space station crew, but was unconnected to Cloverfield<\/i>. The script was acquired by Paramount Pictures<\/a> and Bad Robot in 2012. It had been initially planned as part of Paramount’s low-budget InSurge distribution label, but following the folding of that label, its production was expanded as a Paramount-distributed film. Only during production did Abrams decide to link the film to Cloverfield<\/i>, adapting Uziel’s screenplay and adding scenes to establish the connection, after the same approach was used to alter 10 Cloverfield Lane<\/i> from its original script, The Cellar<\/i>. Abrams saw the particle accelerator accident as a cinematic means for future events to cause changes in the past, narratively linking the Cloverfield<\/i> franchise together.<\/p>\n

Orbiting above an Earth on the brink of catastrophic energy wars, scientists test a dangerous device that could provide unlimited power but also runs the risk of creating a terrifying paradox, leaving them face-to-face with a dark alternate reality.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
