Aquaman<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 American superhero film<\/a> based on the DC Comics<\/a> character of the same name<\/a>, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a>. It is the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe<\/a> (DCEU). Directed by James Wan<\/a>, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick<\/a> and Will Beall<\/a>, from a story by Geoff Johns<\/a>, Wan and Beall, it stars Jason Momoa<\/a> as the title character, with Amber Heard<\/a>, Willem Dafoe<\/a>, Patrick Wilson<\/a>, Dolph Lundgren<\/a>, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II<\/a>, and Nicole Kidman<\/a> in supporting roles. It is the third live-action theatrical film featuring the title character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice<\/a><\/i> (2016) and Justice League<\/a><\/i> (2017) and the first full-length feature film centered around the character. In Aquaman<\/i>, Arthur Curry, the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis<\/a>, must step forward to lead his people against his half-brother, Orm<\/a>, who seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms against the surface world.<\/p>\n
